Chairperson Welcome Message
SPETT 2020 Energy Resources Conference Chairperson
Technical Solutions Consultant, Halliburton
On behalf of the Society of Petroleum Engineers Trinidad and Tobago Section (SPETT) and the organizing committee, I would like to announce that in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, new dates for our sixth biennial conference have been set. Join us at the Hyatt Regency Port of Spain on 28th – 30th June 2021 for SPETT leading technical event.
The world is experiencing unprecedented challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The oil and gas industry has been particularly affected as global energy demands and economies are suffering historic contractions. This industry is known for its cyclical nature and for its ability to learn, adapt and survive many challenges.
As a leading organization in the Caribbean region, SPETT is committed to creating a high-level forum that will bring together (on premise and online) all stakeholders in the sector to discuss their challenges and best practices. The changes happening in the industry are making companies adapt to a new reality and forcing the world to adopt a way of living that has become increasingly local and digital.
Our Theme “Shaping the Future: Technology, Processes and Innovation” captures the accelerated need of “Digital Transformation” adoption to navigate this crisis, ensure continuity, and ultimately achieve sustainability.
2021 SPETT Energy Resources Conference offers the opportunity to enhance your technical and soft skills, connect with industry leaders, increase your professional network, discover the latest projects in the Caribbean Region and learn re-tooling techniques to prepare you for the new challenges ahead.
I would like to thank the SPETT Board, conference committee, authors, sponsors, exhibitors and volunteers for their continued support and dedication.

The capital city, Port of Spain, is the business centre of the Caribbean, housing the headquarters for a number of local businesses, a myriad of restaurants and nightlife entertainment like no other. The sister isle of Tobago is considerably smaller in size.
